Myofunctional Therapy for Tongue Thrusting
At the Communication Station, we offer Myofunctional Therapy for tongue thrusting. This type of therapy is often suggested by an orthodontist. At times, if tongue thrusting occurs or if the s sound is substituted by a th sound, parents independently seek this type of therapy.
Upon initial consultation at our facility, you will receive an evaluation and be provided with details on how to assist your child with adequate performance. Goals and objectives will be provided and a report will be written. Usually, if tongue thrusting is the only difficulty that was identified, therapy is suggested 1 time a week for a period of 3 months. At that time, a progress report will be written and progress will be discussed with you and your child. Due to the short nature of this difficulty and the specified therapy it takes to accurately treat this type of difficulty, we have developed a cost effective packages to assist our clients with this short term deficit.
